Press Instant pick for a random team of six, or spin the wheel for one Pokémon at a time. Every generation from Kanto to Paldea is one click away, plus starters, legendaries and types.
How to use the random Pokémon generator
- Choose a pool with the chips: one of the nine generations, the 27 Starters, Legendary & Mythical, or a type — Fire, Water, Grass or Electric.
- Press Instant pick. It draws six Pokémon by default — a full team — with no repeats.
- Or spin the wheel for one Pokémon at a time and let everyone watch the pick.
Change How many to get a single Pokémon or a bigger list, and Copy puts the result on your clipboard, one name per line. The wheel opens with all 151 Pokémon of Generation 1.
All nine generations
The quick sets cover the whole National Pokédex, all 1025 species from Bulbasaur to Pecharunt, split by the region they debuted in:
- Gen 1 · Kanto (151) and Gen 2 · Johto (100);
- Gen 3 · Hoenn (135) and Gen 4 · Sinnoh (107);
- Gen 5 · Unova (156) and Gen 6 · Kalos (72);
- Gen 7 · Alola (88), Gen 8 · Galar (96) and Gen 9 · Paldea (120).
A wheel holds up to 1000 entries, so the full Pokédex lives in these nine sets rather than on one wheel. Type lists use each Pokémon’s default form, so a Pokémon counts as Fire type if either of its types is Fire.
Challenge ideas
- Random team run: pick six and play through a game using only that team.
- Nuzlocke encounters: spin when a route gives you a choice you cannot make.
- Monotype challenge: open the Fire, Water, Grass or Electric list and pick your team from it.
- Starter roulette: let the Starters set choose your partner for the next playthrough.
- Draw it: pick a Pokémon and draw it from memory, then compare with the real thing.
- Quiz night: spin, and the first player to name its type wins a point.
Make your own Pokémon wheel
Paste any list into Entries — your current box, your favourites, Pokémon you still need for the Pokédex — and both the wheel and Instant pick draw from it. Turn on “Remove winner after spin” in Settings to draft a team without duplicates, or untick No repeats to allow the same Pokémon twice. Share sends the list as a link.
