Food Wheel

Click to spin · Ctrl + ↵ · DragTap or flick to spin

When nobody can agree on dinner, let the food wheel pick. It starts with ten popular dishes; swap in your own favourites, spin, and the debate is over in seconds.

How to decide what to eat

The wheel starts with ten dishes: pizza, sushi, burgers, tacos, pasta, salad, ramen, curry, kebab and pho. Spin it as it is, or make it yours:

  1. Delete what you do not eat and type what you do, one dish per line.
  2. Spin with a click on the hub, Ctrl + Enter or a flick.
  3. Accept the verdict. That is the deal.

The answer is drawn at random the moment you spin, so nobody at the table can claim the wheel was rigged.

Ideas for your wheel

  • Weeknight dinners: the eight meals you actually cook, so planning the week takes one spin a day.
  • Takeout: your local places — rename the wheel Friday takeout and share it with your housemates.
  • Lunch at work: nearby cafés, the canteen and leftovers.
  • Cuisines: Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Indian, Thai, Lebanese — then choose the dish yourself.
  • Breakfast or dessert: pancakes, porridge, eggs, yoghurt, fruit.

Press Share to send the link; it opens the same wheel with the same dishes, so a group chat can watch one spin decide.

Favourites, variety and fair turns

Open Advanced to set a weight per dish. A weight of 3 for the family favourite and 1 for the rest keeps it coming up often without ruling anything else out. You can also hide a dish for a week instead of deleting it.

To plan several days at once, turn on “Remove winner after spin” and spin five times; the Results tab lists the week’s menu in order, ready to copy into a shopping list.

Settle it in seconds

Arguing about food takes longer than cooking it. A spin is quick, fair and a little fun, especially with sounds and confetti on. If everyone groans at the result, spin again — but only once.

FAQ

Questions

How do I use the food wheel to choose dinner?
Keep the dishes on the wheel or type your own, one per line, then spin. Whatever the needle stops on is tonight's dinner.
Can I add restaurants instead of dishes?
Yes. Every line is one option, so you can list restaurants, takeout places or recipes from your cookbook.
Can some meals come up more often?
Open Advanced and give your favourites a higher weight. Their sectors grow and they win more often, while the rest still have a chance.
How do I avoid the same meal two days in a row?
After dinner, press Remove in the result window or hide the dish in Advanced. Bring it back later in the week.
